This page is monitored by Mrs. Kim Harrison, the CRS at Indian Lakes Elementary School. Students, staff, and the community are encouraged to respond to the questions and ideas presented here. The purpose of this page is to give students and teachers experience with blogging in a safe environment.
Blogs can be used as an instructional tool. Students might have their own blogs where they publish writing and allow others to comment. Class discussions about topics covered in class make good blog topics. Teachers can blog about the day or week so parents can check-in and get a glimpse of your world. (I know. Who has time for that?!)
In fifth grade we use SharePoint, for class discussions in a “blogging” atmosphere. Fifth grade students have accounts requiring logins and passwords. Younger students could use something like this instead.
